Direct answer
Treat the official notice as a dated case file. Identify the registered mark and challenged goods, then assemble evidence of genuine use or a fact-specific explanation for non-use.
Read the notice before collecting screenshots
The registered owner should confirm the notice source, registration number, designated goods or services, relevant period, recipient and response date. The 2019 Trademark Law authorizes non-use cancellation under Article 49; the 2026 law, effective 1 January 2027, addresses the matter in Article 57. A generic web article cannot calculate the response deadline from a screenshot. Preserve the complete notice and envelope or electronic service record for the professional handling the case.
Link records to the registered sign
Collect contemporaneous sales contracts, invoices, product or packaging photographs, advertising records, platform listings and authorized distributor or licensee records. For each item, note date, sign, goods and the person using the sign. A spreadsheet of file names is a useful index but is not itself proof. Identify gaps early enough to request originals from partners. If there was interruption, gather documentation of circumstances instead of labeling it a valid reason without review.
Reply to the actual scope of challenge
A cancellation request may focus on particular goods or services. Organize the evidence by the challenged scope, not only by overall company sales. Separate marks that differ in script, logo or Chinese translation. Obtain a China professional’s review of whether the record demonstrates the legally relevant use and how to submit it in the official format. Do not invent invoices or backdate screenshots. Keep the submitted bundle and acknowledgement so any later review starts from the same record. ## Questions to resolve before action
- What period and goods does the notice identify?
- Which documents show the registered sign in relevant use?
- Can licensee or distributor use be linked to authorization?
- Who is responsible for submission and confirmation?

As checked on 2 November 2026, the 2019-amended Trademark Law is the current law. The revised law was adopted on 26 June 2026 and is scheduled to take effect on 1 January 2027 (Article 87). A consultation draft is not an operative rule. Confirm the governing text and any final implementation or transition measure for the date of the specific matter.
